In May 2021, I presented new research on quantifying Operational Risk Assessments (ORAs) with my colleagues Matt Petry and Garrett McKelvey. ORAs are a necessary part of gaining approval to fly drones Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS).
Currently, ORAs take a lot of time and can be a complicated task.
In this paper, we discuss methods for quantifying risk likelihood, and show how this information can be automated and visualized for quick decision making.
